MARC Board Chair Janeé Hanzlick, Johnson County commissioner, also announced at the Nov. 25 meeting that she has formed a committee to identify a firm that will lead the national search for a new executive director. Warm will continue serving in his role until a replacement is named.

“I want to extend a sincere and heartfelt thanks to David for his enduring service and civic leadership to the region,” said Hanzlick. “David has been instrumental in strengthening MARC’s long-term impact by leading with innovation and integrity. While this is a major change, MARC is well-positioned to attract a talented leader for our next chapter.”

Warm stepped into his role in July 1990 and, under his leadership, MARC’s work has become widely regarded for innovation and effectiveness in transportation, environmental protection, emergency management, aging services, early education and local government cooperative services.

“It’s been my honor to serve the region and I am proud of the contributions we’ve made. Our work at MARC has been enabled by elected officials and an extensive network of professional public servants and community partners who have cooperatively worked together to shape the future of our region. And I am especially grateful for the opportunity to work alongside the MARC staff, whose exceptional professionalism and skill underlie the capacity of this organization to be a valued and effective platform for progress.”
