As we welcome a new year, we’re taking a brief look back at the work and progress that defined 2025.

Key events

2025 was a busy year for events at MARC. There were more than 5,000 meetings held at our offices and conference center, plus major regional gatherings that brought partners, leaders and community members together. Highlights included:

Regional Assembly and Leadership Awards, honoring local leaders and organizations under the theme Together in Service
Vibrant Success Stories, celebrating standout achievements in regional planning
Kansas City Urban Stormwater Conference, addressing stormwater management challenges and sharing best practices from across the region
Regional Housing Partnership launch event, introducing new initiatives to improve housing affordability and stability
Age of Celebration, a community block party designed for older adults and their caregivers
Head Start Family Fun Resource Fair, commemorating 60 years of the national Head Start program

MARC was mentioned in the news 2,290 times
MARC released the updated Regional Trails and Bikeways Map and distributed more than 10,000 print copies
MARC Aging and Adult Services helped to serve 126,00 meals in senior centers and 513,000 home-delivered meals for homebound older adults
MARC Head Start sites served more than 2,300 children and employed 500 staff
The Regional 911 System routed more than 3.9 million 911 calls
The Regional Household Hazardous Waste Program collected more than 350,00 pounds of waste at mobile events
Operation Green Light conducted over 380 traffic signal investigations
